Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or another advanced degree preferred
- At least 5 years of progressive compensation experience, including at least 3 years managing compensation strategy, design, and governance
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on compensation experience supporting a U.S.-based public company, including salary administration, annual merit cycles, incentive programs, job architecture, and U.S. market pricing
- Demonstrated expertise in job architecture, job leveling, and pay structure design
- Strong command of compensation systems and tools, such as Oracle HCM, UKG, Payfactors, and Syndio
- Familiarity with compensation survey providers, including Aon, Mercer, and Salary.com
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and data analysis skills
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across geographies
- Professional compensation certification preferred
Responsibilities
Compensation Strategy, Design, and Integration
- Manage and evolve the compensation strategy and pay philosophy, ensuring alignment with business goals and competitive market positioning.
- Design and maintain scalable, market-based pay structures that accommodate geographic differences while preserving consistency.
- Serve as the compensation subject‑matter expert, advising HR leadership on pay decisions, market positioning, and total cash competitiveness.
- Lead the development and governance of job architecture, including job levels, ranks, progression, career paths, and technical specialty alignment, using a consistent, competency‑based taxonomy.
- Oversee job mapping, leveling, and validation as roles are aligned with the global framework and migrated into HRIS systems.
- Define a phased approach to implementing the organization’s compensation strategy across base pay, bonuses, and equity.
Benchmarking and Market Insight
- Lead the benchmarking approach and market positioning, managing survey providers such as Mercer, WTW, Salary.com, Payfactors, and Aon, along with market‑pricing tools.
- Interpret market data to inform pay structure design, salary ranges, and bonus tables.
- Administer salary structures across geographies.
Systems, Cycles, and Leadership
- Manage the end‑to‑end administration of annual compensation cycles across base pay, bonuses, and equity, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent execution across geographies.
- Maintain data integrity and controls by validating compensation data before system uploads, minimizing ad hoc exceptions, and enforcing consistent, well‑documented processes.
- Contribute to executive‑level materials with clear, data‑driven insights.
- Serve as the escalation point for compensation questions from HR Business Partners, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and business leadership.
