Job summary

Vikings Group of Companies in Nuvali, Santa Rosa City, Laguna, is seeking a Commis Japanese to join our culinary team. This full-time role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced Japanese kitchen environment and contribute to menu execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Japanese dishes under supervision, following established recipes and standards.
• Assist in ingredient preparation including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Japanese kitchen station and sanitize equipment.
• Support execution of Japanese cooking techniques including grilling, steaming, frying and sushi assembly.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to meet high Vikings Group of Companies standards.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation in the Japanese kitchen.
• Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak periods.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols and health regulations.

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Japanese dishes under the supervision and guidance of senior kitchen staff, following established recipes and cooking standards
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning of vegetables, proteins and other components
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Japanese kitchen station, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly sanitised and stored
• Support the execution of Japanese cooking techniques including grilling, steaming, frying and assembling sushi and other speciality items
• Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet Vikings Group of Companies' high standards before service
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation within the Japanese kitchen section
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service during peak dining periods
• Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
