InvestEd is seeking a Collections Officer to uphold high standards in debt recovery while protecting borrowers. You will manage delinquent accounts, engage student borrowers through approved channels, and negotiate repayment plans that are fair and feasible.
The role requires careful documentation of commitments and proactive collaboration with other teams to resolve repayment blockers. Ideal candidates have at least one year in microfinance collections, strong negotiation and communication
At InvestEd, strong collection performance never justifies harassment or inappropriate collection practices. Collections is more than following up on overdue payments. It is about helping borrowers meet their financial obligations while supporting responsible lending and sustainable repayment.
We expect every Collections Officer to uphold the following standards:
No harassment or intimidation. We do not tolerate threats, abusive language, humiliation, discrimination, or coercive collection tactics.
No misleading representations. Borrowers must receive accurate information about their obligations, available options, and applicable collection processes.
Respect borrower privacy. Personal and loan information must be handled confidentially and disclosed only when legally and properly authorized.
Negotiate professionally. Collection Officers must pursue repayment firmly but respectfully, using appropriate and lawful methods.
Maintain integrity. Collection activities, borrower commitments, and account records must be documented accurately and truthfully.
