We are seeking a Clinical Research Specialist – Midwifery to support a U.S.-based clinical research study focused on maternal and women's health.
The role combines clinical research and professional midwifery experience. The successful candidate will support research protocols, clinical data collection, study documentation, and related research activities while using their clinical knowledge of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, and reproductive health.
This position is suitable for a midwife who has clinical research experience or is looking to apply their clinical background in a research-focused environment.
Baguio City-based candidates are preferred because initial training will be conducted face-to-face in Baguio City.
Support day-to-day clinical research and study-related activities.
Follow approved research protocols and study procedures.
Collect and accurately record clinical and research data.
Review data and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain organized clinical and research records.
Support research data collection and documentation activities.
Assist with study-related reports and documentation.
Identify and elevate potential data discrepancies or protocol deviations.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and study information.
Follow applicable clinical research, medical ethics, and privacy requirements.
Coordinate with the supervisor and research team regarding study activities.
Use your clinical experience to support research activities involving:
Prenatal Care
Monitoring fetal development.
Monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs.
Conducting physical assessments.
Assisting with diagnostic testing and documentation.
Labor & Delivery
Monitoring mothers and babies during labor.
Supporting normal and assisted deliveries.
Providing appropriate labor and delivery support.
Recognizing and appropriately escalating complications.
Postnatal Care
Conducting newborn assessments.
Supporting breastfeeding.
Monitoring maternal postpartum recovery.
Providing postpartum education and support.
Reproductive Health
Performing Pap smears within scope of practice.
Providing family-planning and contraceptive counseling.
Providing reproductive-health education.
Supporting the assessment of minor gynecological concerns within scope of practice.
Applicants must have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with:
Cesarean Section (CS) Delivery
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
Normal Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (NSVD)
Vacuum-assisted Delivery and/or Forceps Delivery
Experience across prenatal care, labor and delivery, postnatal care, and reproductive health is required.
Graduate of a recognized Midwifery program.
Valid Philippine professional license/registration, where applicable.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
Experience or exposure to clinical research is preferred.
Knowledge of clinical data collection and research documentation.
Understanding of clinical trial processes and medical ethics.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with Adobe software is an advantage.
Strong English communication skills.
