About the role
The Civil Engineer will work closely with the Project Development team and other technical consultants to ensure that civil engineering considerations are incorporated into project decisions. The role involves conducting civil engineering assessments of potential and existing project sites, supporting preliminary planning and development of civil infrastructure, and providing technical input to renewable energy project development activities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct civil engineering assessments of potential and existing project sites, reviewing site conditions including terrain, slopes, elevation, drainage, soil conditions, access, and existing infrastructure.
- Review topographic and geotechnical information and identify potential civil engineering constraints.
- Support the preliminary planning and development of access roads, drainage and erosion-control measures, turbine foundation areas, crane pads, hardstands, laydown and construction areas, temporary facilities, substation and transmission-related civil works, and other project facilities.
- Prepare or review preliminary civil concepts and layouts based on project requirements.
- Assess existing roads and access routes leading to project sites and review potential transportation routes for construction equipment and major components.
- Identify road, bridge, slope, turning-radius, clearance, and other access constraints.
- Review civil engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical reports, and identify technical issues or inconsistencies.
- Coordinate with surveyors and geotechnical consultants during project development and review topographic surveys, site measurements, and geotechnical reports.
- Conduct regular site visits and technical inspections to verify site conditions against drawings, surveys, reports, and proposed project layouts.
- Provide civil engineering inputs required for permits, clearances, and government submissions.
