Overview
The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing construction projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review engineering plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
- Monitor project progress and ensure construction adheres to design specifications, safety standards, and local building codes.
- Manage materials, manpower, schedules, and budgets during construction.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, suppliers, and other engineers.
- Perform structural calculations and provide technical advice on design, construction, and maintenance.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or problems that may arise on-site.
- Ensure proper documentation of reports, permits, contracts, and approvals.
- Supervise site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Review and approve technical drawings and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC)
- At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and engineering software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, SketchUp)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
- Effective communication skills in both English and Filipino
- Willing to travel and work on-site as required
