Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; MBA or CPA/CMA desirable
• 10+ years in financial management or accounting; 5+ years in senior leadership
• Construction industry or project-based environment experience
• Strong knowledge of Philippines accounting standards and regulations
• Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning

About the role

Gencore Construction Corp. is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and drive the company's financial success. This is a full-time position based in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. As Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and operational excellence. This role is pivotal to the organisation's strategic direction and plays a crucial part in ensuring sustainable profitability and financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies and policies to support company objectives and ensure long-term financial sustainability

• Managing and overseeing the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting functions

• Preparing and presenting accurate financial statements, reports and analyses to senior management and the board of directors on a regular basis

• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes to optimise resource allocation and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Managing cash flow, working capital and banking relationships to ensure adequate liquidity and optimal financial position

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax requirements and accounting standards applicable to construction industry operations

• Conducting financial analysis and providing recommendations on investment opportunities, capital expenditure and strategic initiatives

• Supervising and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement

• Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and other financial stakeholders

• Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and risk management frameworks to protect company assets

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field; MBA or advanced accounting qualifications (CPA, CMA) highly desirable

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial management or accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership position

• Proven experience in the construction industry or similar project-based business environments

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance requirements in the Philippines

• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning

• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing finance teams

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
