Responsible for leading the organization's finance and accounting functions by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial planning, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial management. Support business growth, optimize financial performance, manage risk, and drive operational excellence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Review financial results and provide analysis on key performance indicators and business trends.
- Coordinate annual statutory audits and support external and internal audit activities.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop realistic operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
- Support business planning through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
3. Cash Management
- Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow and liquidity position.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate working capital.
- Optimize cash utilization by managing receivables, payables, and inventory.
- Maintain banking relationships and oversee financing arrangements when required.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Perform financial analysis to evaluate business performance, profitability, and cost efficiency.
- Develop financial models to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
5. Tax Planning and Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of all corporate tax, indirect tax, and statutory filings.
- Maintain compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
- Identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
- Support tax audits and maintain complete tax documentation.
6. Internal Controls and Risk Management
- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and internal financial controls.
- Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic reviews of financial processes to strengthen controls and reduce operational risks.
7. Stakeholder Communication
- Present financial reports, business performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with department leaders to support business objectives and financial decision-making.
- Serve as the primary finance contact for auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across the organization to promote financial accountability and transparency.
8. Operational Efficiency
- Evaluate and improve finance and accounting processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Drive process improvement initiatives through automation, system enhancements, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational excellence.
- Ensure efficient utilization of financial systems and accounting software.
9. Strategic Planning
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute long‑term financial strategies.
- Support business expansion, investment evaluations, and strategic initiatives through financial analysis.
- Contribute to corporate planning by providing financial insights and risk assessments.
- Monitor industry trends and economic conditions that may impact business performance.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Direct, manage and supervise the work activities of all direct reports.
- Evaluate the performance of, and provide training and development opportunities for all direct reports. Takes an active role in the development or enhancement of internal controls, policies and procedures relating to financial management and accounting.
IRREGULAR / INTERMITTENT
- Act as point person during the conduct of statutory audit by the external auditors and ensures the timely completion and approval of the Company’s annual audited financial statements.
- Supports and participates in the Company’s strategic planning activities.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Must have extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory compliance, including financial legislation, BIR regulations, SEC requirements, and other applicable government regulatory requirements.
- Must have strong leadership, analytical, and strategic decision‑making skills.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
