About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to join Gencore Construction Corp. at our headquarters in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. This is a full-time, senior-level position that plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the successful execution of our strategic initiatives across all business units. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational functions, optimising processes, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and profitability. This role is essential to our continued growth and success in the competitive construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operational functions, including project management, procurement, supply chain management, and resource allocation across multiple construction projects
• Develop and implement operational strategies and policies that align with the company's long-term vision and strategic objectives
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all operations and project sites
• Manage and optimise project timelines, budgets, and resource utilisation to maximise profitability and efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operational management team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, providing regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and partners
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Manage risk mitigation strategies and ensure business continuity planning is in place
• Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and business development opportunities

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 10+ years of senior operational management experience, with substantial experience in the construction industry or large-scale manufacturing and engineering sectors
• Proven track record of successfully leading operations in complex, multi-project environments with significant budgets and diverse teams
• Strong understanding of construction project management, including procurement, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and demonstrated commitment to achieving zero-incident workplaces
• Outstanding strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
• Demonstrated expertise in process optimisation, lean management, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, financial analysis, and cost optimisation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within and outside the organisation
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional certification (PMP, Six Sigma) is preferred
• Experience working in the Philippines or Southeast Asia is advantageous
