The Business Development Manager for Chemical Trading is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new markets, developing strategic customer relationships, expanding the company's chemical trading portfolio, and generating profitable sales opportunities. The position will lead business development initiatives for chemical products, particularly through B2B selling, market expansion, key account development, supplier coordination, and solution-based selling. The role requires a commercially driven professional who can understand customer requirements, translate them into appropriate chemical/product solutions, and convert opportunities into sustainable business.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for the company's chemical trading business
- Research and analyze market trends, industry developments, customer needs, and competitor activities
- Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's customer base
- Establish and maintain a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through conversion
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned sales and revenue targets
- Generate qualified leads through direct prospecting, referrals, networking, industry events, and market research
- Conduct client presentations, product discussions, commercial negotiations, and business proposals
- Develop a working understanding of chemical products, applications, specifications, and relevant industry standards
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, customer interactions, sales opportunities, and business development activities
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, chemical trading, industrial chemicals, specialty chemicals, or a related B2B industry
- Experience in chemical sales/trading, industrial products, manufacturing, or technical selling is highly preferred
- Proven track record in acquiring new customers and developing business accounts
- Experience in handling B2B clients and commercial negotiations
- Driver's license is a must
