About the role
We are looking for a Philippines-based Business Development Manager to acquire new Australian clients and build lasting, profitable relationships.
You must have promotional products industry experience and currently be working as a Business Development Executive. This opportunity suits someone ready to take greater ownership of prospecting, sales conversion and account growth.
You will work closely with our Australian sales team and sourcing and operations teams to turn client requirements into competitive proposals and confirmed orders.
1. Find and win new clients
- Identify Australian businesses with ongoing promotional merchandise requirements.
- Research target companies, decision-makers, upcoming events and purchasing opportunities.
- Generate leads through outbound calls, personalised emails, LinkedIn and referrals.
- Arrange meetings, understand client needs and convert qualified prospects into customers.
2. Develop relevant merchandise proposals
- Understand each client’s campaign objectives, audience, budget, quantities and delivery deadlines.
- Recommend suitable products, branding methods and sourcing options.
- Coordinate quotations, samples and presentations with internal teams.
- Explain pricing, production lead times and product options clearly.
3. Manage the sales process
- Take ownership of opportunities from first contact through quotation, negotiation and order confirmation.
- Follow up consistently on proposals and address objections.
- Negotiate within agreed pricing and margin guidelines.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast likely orders.
4. Grow client relationships
- Build relationships with marketing teams, procurement contacts, business owners and other buyers.
- Identify repeat orders, cross-selling opportunities and larger merchandise programs.
- Develop account plans around clients’ recurring events and marketing calendars.
- Work with account managers to support a smooth transition and continued client engagement.
5. Coordinate a clear order handover
- Confirm product specifications, quantities, decoration requirements, artwork needs and delivery expectations.
- Provide complete briefs to sourcing, artwork and operations teams.
- Help resolve commercial questions and keep clients informed during the handover.
6. Track activity and results
- Keep CRM records, contact details and next steps up to date.
- Report on prospecting activity, qualified opportunities, conversions, revenue and gross margin.
- Share client feedback, competitor insights and emerging product demand.
Essential requirements
- Currently employed as a Business Development Executive in the promotional products industry.
- Practical knowledge of branded merchandise, product sourcing, decoration methods and production lead times.
- Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and winning new business.
- Strong spoken and written English, with confidence engaging Australian business clients.
- Ability to prepare persuasive proposals, negotiate effectively and follow through on opportunities.
- Experience using a CRM and managing multiple prospects and quotations.
- Based in the Philippines and available to work hours aligned with Australian business operations.

- Familiarity with Australian promotional products suppliers and offshore sourcing.
