We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager with a strong hunter mindset to drive new business growth within the ocean freight forwarding sector in the Philippines.
This role is focused on new client acquisition and full-cycle sales, from prospecting and solution development through negotiation, closing, and successful operational handover. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of winning large freight forwarding accounts, including deals generating USD 70-80K in monthly revenue from a customer.
This is a true new-business role, not an account farming position. High performers will have the opportunity to progress into a sales leadership role as the business continues to grow.
Identify and generate new sales leads, develop tailored logistics solutions, and convert prospects into new business wins.
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline in close collaboration with field sales and business development teams.
Lead the preparation of proposals, quotations, and customer presentations for new business opportunities.
Manage RFI and RFQ responses, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
Partner with operations and relevant internal teams to develop pricing, solutions, and RFQ strategies.
Coordinate new customer implementations, including project planning, solution design, warehouse setup, SOP development, cost analysis, and contracting.
Achieve and exceed assigned sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
Coordinate with vendors and service partners to ensure operational performance meets customer requirements.
Conduct customer visits, sales calls, presentations, negotiations, and commercial or contractual discussions.
Build strong customer relationships and establish long-term strategic partnerships.
Ensure smooth handover of newly acquired accounts to operations and relevant internal stakeholders.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
5-8 years of relevant experience in 3PL sales, business development, contract logistics, freight forwarding, or related fields.
Proven track record in freight forwarding sales, particularly ocean freight.
Demonstrated success in closing large accounts generating USD 70-80K or more in monthly revenue from a customer.
Strong full-cycle sales experience covering prospecting, cold calling, solution development, negotiation, closing, and operational handover.
Established client network with the ability to generate and onboard significant new revenue.
Strong hunter mindset with a proven focus on new business acquisition rather than account farming.
Strong ability to influence decision-makers and engage senior management.
Solid understanding of supply chain, warehousing, transportation, and logistics solutions.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with the ability to create win-win outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment.
Must have sea/ocean freight experience.
