Job summary

The Peninsula Manila is seeking a passionate Banquet Manager to oversee the efficient operations of conference and events in Manila’s prime business district. You will be responsible for staffing, delegation, supervision, and ensuring high service standards throughout events.

Lead a team of casual colleagues, coordinate set-ups, ensure punctuality and professional appearance, and communicate directly with hosts to anticipate their needs and resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years banquet experience.
• Ability to read function orders and banquet event orders.
• Knowledge of service and setup for function rooms and event spaces.
• Engaging, fast, efficient, and friendly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee event setup and room layout, providing the team with setup information.
• Direct and lead a casual staff to deliver events to standards.
• Monitor punctuality and appearance of banquet service employees, including uniforms.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate Banquet Manager who will be accountable for the efficient operations of conference and events by taking responsibility for effective staff scheduling, delegation of job tasks, monitoring, and supervision of service.

Key accountabilities

• Ability to oversee the set-up of each event including checking the physical layout of the room, providing the team with proper set-up information, and ensuring correct postings
• Ability to direct and lead a team of casual colleagues to deliver an event to the agreed standards
• Oversee the punctuality and appearance of all banquet service employees, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene
• Ability to introduce and communicate directly to individual hosts, reviewing details and making him/herself accessible to the host for any need that may arise
• Handle, or relay to managers all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily

General Requirements
