Job summary

You will supervise teams, strengthen controls, oversee transaction processing, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, and IT to address operational concerns and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Substantial banking industry experience required.
• 8–10 years of relevant banking operations experience, preferably with leadership experience.
• Experience managing banking operations teams and multiple functions.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, risk, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Working knowledge of BSP regulations and banking industry standards.
• Ability to analyze operational issues and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant banking/financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall delivery of banking operational functions, ensuring smooth and timely execution of daily activities.
• Establish and enhance operational procedures, workflows, service standards, and control mechanisms.
• Ensure banking processes are aligned with BSP regulations, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Set operational performance objectives and regularly assess productivity, service quality, turnaround times, and KPIs.
• Review processes to identify gaps, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Implement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance service delivery.
• Manage and develop operations personnel through coaching, performance monitoring, training, and succession planning.
• Oversee transaction processing, account servicing, payment activities, reconciliations, and other critical banking processes.
• Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, IT, and other units to address concerns and implement corrective measures.
• Audit readiness: serve as a key contact during internal and external audits and ensure findings are addressed timely.
• Establish risk mitigation measures, controls, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Maintain business continuity plans and periodic reviews.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Present updates and recommendations to senior management.
• Promote technology and automation to streamline processes.
• Escalate and resolve customer and internal service issues; ensure governance and segregation of duties.
