The B2B Collection Specialist is responsible for managing business-to-business accounts receivable by contacting commercial clients regarding outstanding balances, resolving billing concerns, negotiating payment arrangements, and ensuring timely collection of overdue accounts. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills while maintaining positive and professional client relationships.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college education is a plus.
At least 6 months of B2B collections, billing, or related call center experience.
Experience handling B2B outbound calls and business accounts is strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict-resolution skills.
Comfortable handling difficult conversations and customer objections.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze account information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with CRM or collection systems.
Ability to work independently while meeting daily and monthly collection targets.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Customer-focused, professional, persistent, and results-oriented.
Contact business clients via phone, email, and other communication channels regarding past-due invoices and outstanding balances.
Perform B2B outbound collection calls to secure timely payment of outstanding accounts.
Review customer accounts, invoices, payment history, and aging reports to determine appropriate collection actions.
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, invoice disputes, short payments, and account-related concerns.
Negotiate payment arrangements and follow established collection policies and procedures.
Handle customer objections professionally and use effective negotiation techniques to obtain payment commitments.
Document all collection activities, customer interactions, payment commitments, and account updates accurately in the CRM or collection system.
Follow up on promised payments and ensure commitments are fulfilled within agreed timelines.
Coordinate with Billing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to resolve account issues.
