Remote Talent is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to support a hospitality business with four Melbourne venues. You will manage weekly Australian payroll across multiple entities and assist with basic bookkeeping and reporting.

The role emphasizes accurate payroll processing, familiarity with Australian awards, PAYG withholding, and Xero integration; you’ll work closely with venue managers to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on Australian payroll or bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and hospitality award conditions
• Practical experience with Xero, Tanda, and Square POS
• Experience processing weekly payroll and handling multiple business entities
• Knowledge of PAYG withholding, superannuation, and bank reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and written English communication
• This is a dedicated payroll and finance role, not a general VA position. Previous Australian payroll experience is essential

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll and generate payslips
• Review and reconcile employee timesheets
• Apply Australian award rates, overtime, penalty rates, and allowances
• Maintain payroll records and assist with STP and superannuation reporting
• Handle Xero bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and weekly financial reports
• Coordinate with venue managers and business owners to meet payroll deadlines
