Job summary

Leoch Battery Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an Asst Project Manager / Project Manager to lead engineering execution and project delivery of battery and energy storage systems across Singapore and ASEAN. You will bridge design intent, manufacturing standards, and field installation to ensure systems meet specs, mentoring junior staff while owning engineering outcomes.

You will oversee design finalisation, FAT/SAT, protection settings, battery sizing, cable routing, and compliance with NFPA 855/SCDF

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on project engineering experience with battery or electrical infrastructure.
• Familiar with NFPA 855/SCDF ESS fire safety requirements.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
• Proficient in MS Project and Excel.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Ability to draft professional technical reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of projects from design finalisation through FAT, site installation, commissioning, and SAT.
• Review and validate customer specifications, single-line diagrams, protection settings, and battery string configurations.
• Develop detailed engineering submittals, method statements, and commissioning procedures.
• Perform battery sizing calculations, load analysis, and runtime verification.
• Review and approve mechanical layouts, cable routing, racking and ventilation designs for battery rooms / containerised BESS.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes (SCDF fire safety, UL 9540A, NFPA 855).
• Lead or supervise site installation, termination and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with the technical team to troubleshoot issues during installation and commissioning (e.g., impedance deviations, BMS integration faults).
• Act as technical spokesperson to customers during project execution, explaining design decisions and test results.
• Guide and review the work of junior engineers and technicians.

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Asst Project Manager / Project Manager to lead the engineering execution and project delivery of battery and energy storage projects across Singapore and ASEAN region. You will be the technical anchor for project implementation, bridging design intent, manufacturing standards, and field installation to ensure every system performs to specification. This role is suited to an engineer who thrives on solving complex technical problems, enjoys hands-on commissioning, and can mentor junior staff while maintaining direct accountability for project engineering outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of projects from design finalisation through manufacturing oversight, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing (SAT).




• Review and validate customer specifications, single-line diagrams, protection settings, and battery string configurations against project requirements.




• Develop detailed engineering submittals, method statements, and commissioning procedures.




• Perform battery sizing calculations, load analysis, and runtime verification.




• Review and obtain approval for mechanical layouts, cable routing, racking, and ventilation designs for battery rooms / containerised BESS.




• Ensure designs comply with local codes (SCDF fire safety for ESS, SS standards), UL 9540A and NFPA 855 as applicable.




• Lead or supervise site installation, termination, and commissioning activities.




• Coordinate with technical team to troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning (e.g., impedance deviations, BMS integration faults, thermal anomalies).

About you

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.




• Minimum 3 years of hands-on project engineering experience with battery related or electrical infrastructure or construction.




• Familiar with NFPA 855/SCDF ESS fire safety requirements (added advantage).




• PMP or PRINCE2 certification (preferred).




• Proficient in MS Project / Excel.




• Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.




• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.




• Ability to draft professional technical reports, emails, and project documentation.




• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
