Responsibilities

• Manage importation processes and ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of sea and air shipments.
• Monitor and secure complete, accurate, and timely shipping documents and forward to customs brokers.
• Coordinate with brokers, shipping lines, truckers, forwarders and other stakeholders for smooth release and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and HS codes.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on import requirements and procedures.
• Conduct orientation sessions and training on import processes and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor performance of brokers and logistics providers to meet SLAs.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.
• Analyze shipment data to investigate delays and non-standard charges and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliant import activities.

An Import Associate is responsible for managing importation clearance activities and ensuring the timely release and delivery of imported shipments while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable government regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage importation processes and ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of sea and air shipments.
• Monitor and secure complete, accurate, and timely shipping documents from suppliers and forward them to customs brokers for processing.
• Coordinate with brokers, shipping lines, truckers, forwarders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth shipment release and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with importation regulations and customs requirements, including proper tariff classification and verification of Harmonized System (HS) Codes.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding importation requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct orientation sessions and training programs related to importation processes and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of customs brokers, logistics providers, and other vendors to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and streamline import operations.
• Analyze shipment data, investigate causes of delays and non-standard charges, and recommend solutions to optimize costs and operational performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant importation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Open for FRESH GRADUATES
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in importation, customs clearance, logistics, supply chain, or international trade operations.
• Strong knowledge of importation processes, customs regulations, and Harmonized System (HS) Codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to evaluate shipment data and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated supplier and vendor management skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Licensed Customs Broker is an advantage but not required.
