Job summary

Schott Singapore Pte Ltd. is seeking a focused Shift Operations Manager to lead production operators and technicians on the assigned shift. You will ensure safety, quality, and adherence to procedures while driving performance across planning, shipment coordination, and data monitoring.

You will collaborate with Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and CS teams to meet on-time delivery, analyze KPI trends, and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement within the shift team.

Qualifications

1. Shift Operations Management

• Lead and supervise production operators and technicians during the assigned shift.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Monitor production activities and take corrective actions to resolve operational issues.
• Conduct shift handover meetings and communicate critical information.

2. Production Planning & Shipment Coordination

• Plan and prioritize daily production activities according to shipment requirements.
• Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Review production schedules and adjust priorities based on customer demand and capacity constraints.
• Monitor order fulfillment status and expedite urgent customer requirements.

3. Data Monitoring & Analysis

• Track key operational KPIs including:
• Production Output
• OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Scrap Rate
• Yield Performance
• Downtime
• Backlog Status
• Analyze production and shipment data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
• Escalate potential delivery risks to management promptly.

4. Resource Management

• Plan manpower allocation according to production requirements.
• Monitor workforce attendance, overtime, and productivity.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational targets.
• Support training and competency development of operators.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify process bottlenecks affecting productivity or shipment performance.
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and operational excellence programs.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

6. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Investigate production deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture within the shift team.
