JOB OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Engineer supports the Project Compliance Team in ensuring that construction and maintenance projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved plans and standards. The role is involved in site monitoring, technical and cost evaluation, contractor coordination, project documentation, and compliance.

You’ll work closely with contractors, consultants, government agencies, and internal teams to help keep projects on track—from planning and construction through completion.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Construction & Site Monitoring

• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality, and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections and help identify and resolve technical concerns.
• Review drawings and project proposals for completeness and constructability.
• Track project progress, schedules, and key milestones.

Cost & Technical Evaluation

• Prepare basic project cost estimates and cost comparisons.
• Assist in evaluating contractor proposals, quotations, and variation orders.
• Review contractor billings, progress claims, and supporting documents.
• Support basic value engineering and cost-efficiency reviews.

Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare project status updates, accomplishment reports, and engineering documentation.
• Monitor project risks, delays, and technical issues, and elevate concerns when needed.
• Maintain accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, LGUs, government agencies, and internal teams.
• Support the timely implementation of construction and maintenance projects.
• Help facilitate communication and resolution of project-related concerns.

Engineering Documentation

• Assist in preparing and updating engineering drawings, revisions, and as-built plans.
• Maintain organized project drawings, records, and technical documents.
• Support contract administration and project change management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction, site engineering, project implementation, or project compliance
• Knowledge of construction processes, technical documentation, and project monitoring
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering tools
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willing to conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders
