JOB OVERVIEW:
The Project Manager – Architectural Design will lead and oversee the complete design stage of a major building project, serving as the primary project representative responsible for coordinating the multidisciplinary design team and ensuring the successful delivery of the project’s design requirements.
The role will oversee the project from design-consultant procurement and concept validation through detailed design, permitting, cost planning, tender documentation, and final handover to the project implementation team.
The successful candidate will ensure that the final design is functional, code-compliant, coordinated, constructible, maintainable, cost-aligned, and ready for competitive construction bidding.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the selection and management of multidisciplinary design consultants.
Oversee architectural and engineering design development from concept to IFC/tender stage.
Coordinate architecture, structural, MEPF, civil, and other specialist disciplines.
Manage design schedules, deliverables, BIM coordination, and design quality.
Oversee permitting, regulatory requirements, and utility coordination.
Monitor project costs and lead value engineering initiatives.
Review and ensure completeness of tender/IFC drawings, specifications, BOQ, and cost estimates.
Manage design issues, risks, changes, and stakeholder decisions.
Provide regular project updates and lead design-stage turnover to the implementation team.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
Licensed Architect preferred but not required.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in architectural, design, project, or construction management.
Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.
Experience in at least 2 comparable building projects (commercial, institutional, office, mixed-use, mid-rise, or high-rise).
Strong knowledge of design coordination, BIM, permitting, cost planning, value engineering, and tender/IFC documentation.
Working knowledge of the National Building Code, Fire Code, BP 344, Green Building Code, and local zoning requirements.
Strong leadership, project management, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
