Job summary

John Clements Consultants, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Accountant to oversee accounting operations, including journal entries, GL reviews, and monthly close. You will generate financial statements and management reports, and support annual external statements and audits.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, manufacturing experience, and strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Training and mentorship of the team are key aspects of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual journal entries with proper supporting documents
• Check posted AP journal entries in the general ledger and review subsidiary ledger balances
• Execute monthly financial statement closing process including accruals, prepayments, and costing
• Monitor and update subsidiary ledgers and accounting schedules
• Generate monthly financial and management reports including comparative financial position, profit and loss, and forecast/budget vs actual results
• Prepare annual external financial statements and oversee external audits
• Perform account reconciliations as needed
• Monitor, analyse and report on inventory-related transactions
• Ensure accuracy of inventory records and provide monthly inventory reports
• Train and mentor staff members in the team

About the role

You will generate financial and management reports, prepare annual external financial statements, oversee audits, and manage inventory-related accounting transactions. The position includes training and mentoring team members.
