Job summary

Matimco, Inc. is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage cost and inventory accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with production, procurement, and treasury teams, supervise staff, and drive process improvements.

The role requires at least three years in finance and accounting, with SAP and advanced Excel skills considered a plus. Location is in Metro Manila with on-site work expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Advanced MS Office Excel skills.
• Experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cost accounting, product costing, and cost analysis with production/warehouse teams.
• Maintain inventory accounting, reconcile balances, and ensure accurate valuation.
• Review Balance Sheet, OPEX/NOPEX postings and ensure proper cut-offs.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers.
• Oversee VAT, withholding, and income tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, warehouse, and treasury for data validation.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff; provide coaching and guidance.
• Support process and system improvements and assist in documentation/testing.

About the role

This role involves managing cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting processes. You will coordinate with multiple internal departments, supervise accounting staff, and support continuous process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in cost accounting and product costing - Manage material creation, standard costing, and product cost analysis in coordination with production and warehouse teams.
• Maintain inventory accounting - Reconcile inventory balances, check discrepancies, and ensure accurate valuation and documentation.
• Ensure proper posting of Balance Sheet, OPEX/NOPEX - Review expense entries for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to reporting cut-offs, internal controls and accounting standards.
• Month-end closing and reporting - Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers to support financial reporting, and preparation of reports as needed.
• Review tax and regulatory filings - Ensure accuracy and timely submission of VAT, withholding, and income tax returns, and compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments - Collaborate with procurement, production, warehouse, and treasury teams for data validation and issue resolution.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff - Assign tasks, review outputs, and provide coaching to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Support process and system improvements - Identify issues, recommend process enhancements, and assist in updating documentation and system testing.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related.
• At least three (3) years of experience related to finance and accounting.
• Knowledge in SAP is an advantage.
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office particularly in Excel.
• Have an experience managing a team.
