Accounting Specialist / Payroll Coordinator (G.Y., WFH)
Job Description
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Review employee time records, payroll information, deductions, and adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate payroll-related entries.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure payroll information is accurate and complete.
- Calculate commission payable and payroll amounts for many employees with different compensation plans.
General Accounting
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Record, review, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and accounting schedules.
- Review transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and other accounting-related projects.
- Support the accounting department with additional responsibilities as needed.
Excel & Data Management
- Utilize Microsoft Excel extensively for accounting analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and data management.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets using advanced formulas and functions.
- Work with XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and other Excel tools.
- Analyze large data sets, identify discrepancies, and provide accurate reporting.
- Improve and maintain accounting spreadsheets and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
- Proven experience in multiple areas of accounting, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prior experience processing payroll, preferably.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, preferably QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax requirements.
- Experience with accounting system reporting and data reconciliation.
- Experience improving accounting processes and workflows.
