NCS Philippines is seeking an Application Support Specialist to provide technical support for applications, system software, and related computing tools. The role covers monitoring, testing, and maintenance of live services, with focus on resolving incidents per SLA and delivering timely reports.

The candidate should have a IT-related degree and 1–2 years of experience, with knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting, PHP, and database queries. Telco experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• College graduate in Information Technology or equivalent education plus experience.
• 1–2 years of working experience; Telco industry is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in Unix/Linux shell scripting and basic PHP programming.
• Databases: MySQL/Postgres/Mongo queries.
• Linux services: Apache/Nginx/PHP/Perl/Database.
• Familiar with network and system security.
• Knowledgeable in Monitoring tools (Nagios/Cacti).
• Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems in Linux/Unix.

Responsabilités

• Assists in ensuring 24/7 operations including monitoring and maintenance of live services, platforms, and gateways.
• Initiates functional testing for critical services as part of monitoring.
• Corrects errors and modifies existing software.
• Upgrade interfaces by updating hardware for better performance.
• Study existing system and recommend new installation or upgrade.
• Ensure incidents are acknowledged, resolved, or escalated per SLA.
• Acknowledge business and customer requests and provide timely results.
• Support monthly backup and log cleanup.
• Prepare and generate reports for live services upon request.
• Ensure daily reports and stats (email, web tool, SMS) are working.
