Job summary
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy requires Senior Technical Risk and Safety Engineers for a contract in Muscat, Oman. These roles involve implementing safety strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance in sour gas projects within the oil and gas industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience, with at least 5 years in Technical Safety.
- Sour Gas project experience is preferred.
- Experience in QRAs and oil and gas industry required.
Responsibilities
- Implement project HSSE and SP strategies.
- Conduct Physical Effects Modelling and Quantitative Risk Assessments.
- Facilitate hazard workshops and develop ALARP demonstrations.

Our client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in oil and gas engineering across upstream, downstream, and midstream sectors. They also offer EPC services on large-scale contracts.
Due to new project work on a Sour Gas Facility, our client is seeking 3 Technical Safety Engineers for a 3-4 month contract in Muscat, Oman.
- Implement project HSSE and SP strategies
- Conduct Physical Effects Modelling and Quantitative Risk Assessments
- Utilise software such as FRED and SHEPHERD
- Apply safety case regulations and ALARP principles
- Facilitate hazard workshops (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, Bow-Ties, ALARP, SIMOPs)
- Develop ALARP demonstrations for Process Safety risks
- Participate in project work from design to manufacturing, construction, installation, and production
Any
• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience, with at least 5 years in Technical Safety
• Sour Gas project experience is preferred
• Experience in QRAs
• Oil and Gas industry experience
