Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its Projects team, focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail Design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Supervising a team of pipeline engineers and designers to translate limited information from the Concept Selection Report and/or Basis for Design into Basis for Design, Front End Design, project specifications, and Detailed Design.
  2. Supervising a team of pipeline engineers to carry out FEED and DD activities for an assigned project area, ensuring timely delivery of relevant pipeline engineering outputs according to DCAF requirements. This position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
Responsibilities

The Senior Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing Pipeline Engineering Cost, Time, and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects.
  2. Supervising a team of pipeline engineers and designers assigned to a project area under the supervision of the Project Pipeline Lead.
  3. Contributing to the Basis for Design, Project Specifications, and Philosophies.
  4. Developing Pig Trap Layout/Plot Plan based on PFS/UFS and technical safety requirements.
  5. Conducting stress analysis for pipelines.
  6. Utilizing software such as Google Earth, ARCGIS, and GPS.
  7. Identifying and finalizing pipeline routes.
  8. Developing and approving specifications for pipeline materials and specialty items.
  9. Following QMS requirements in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition.
  10. Initiating, checking, and approving pipeline engineering deliverables.
  11. Providing input and reviewing deliverables from other disciplines as appropriate.
  12. Supporting procurement and construction activities.
  13. Participating in HAZID, Design Review, HAZOP, IPF, 3D Model Reviews, and various HSE workshops.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 6 years in FEED and DD engineering, and at least 10 years in oil & gas experience.
  3. Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  4. Experience managing small teams and third-party contractors or licensors.
  5. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
