Job description

Civil/Structural Engineer (pumping stations / water pipelines)

• Manages the workload of the Civil/Pipelines/structural Inspector
• Reviews Contractor material and shop drawing submittals
• Responds to inspection requests in a timely manner and performs site inspections and witnesses tests, as necessary, in support of civil, structural and piping matters identified by the Construction Supervision Team
• Conducts inspections to determine if civil, structural and piping works have been done in accordance with contract specifications
• Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the construction project
• Performs complex engineering tasks and engineering work efficiently and accurately
• Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, measurements, surveys and designs.
• Supports the Resident Engineer and other members of the construction supervision team in reviewing project schedules and payment applications.
• Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• 15 years of experience in increasingly responsible positions
• Past experience in potable water projects including successful completion of a large pumping station and/or large diameter water pipeline (DI or steel) project in the position of senior engineer.
• Excellent communication skills
