Job summary

SANY Group is seeking a skilled technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems. The role includes commissioning, start-up, and customer handover, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on GCC/UAE/region experience, OEM training, and ability to troubleshoot CAN-bus and electronic controls. Strong documentation and field readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/Technical Certificate or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Relevant OEM training or manufacturer certification is preferred.
• Hands-on field-service experience in heavy equipment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs according to schedules and OEM procedures.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems.
• Inspect and repair major subsystems (engine, transmission, undercarriage, hydraulics, braking, cooling, lubrication).
• Diagnose hydraulic components and CAN-bus/control circuits; use service tools and wiring diagrams.
• Complete commissioning, pre-delivery inspection, start-up and customer handover support.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PM), periodic inspections, servicing and corrective repairs in accordance with SANY maintenance schedules and OEM procedures.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic and control-system faults using systematic troubleshooting methods, service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and approved diagnostic tools.
• Carry out engine, transmission, final drive, swing drive, undercarriage, braking, cooling, lubrication, fuel and exhaust-system inspections and repairs as applicable to the assigned equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, piping, accumulators, pilot/control circuits and hydraulic attachments.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic systems including batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, switches, relays, controllers, displays, CAN-bus/control circuits and machine monitoring systems.
• Perform component removal, overhaul, replacement, adjustment, calibration and functional testing while protecting equipment from secondary damage or contamination.
• Complete machine commissioning, pre-delivery inspection (PDI), assembly checks, initial start-up, testing and customer handover support when assigned.
• Attend customer breakdowns and emergency call-outs; identify root cause, restore equipment safely and recommend permanent corrective action.
• Execute warranty and campaign repairs strictly in line with approved procedures, documentation requirements and authorization limits.
• Use SANY service platforms, digital service tools, equipment records, parts information and remote-support channels where available.
• Prepare accurate service reports documenting fault symptoms, diagnosis, work performed, parts used, measurements, test results, machine hours and recommendations.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to Service Supervisors, Service Engineers, Parts teams, Warranty teams and customers.
• Maintain service tools, diagnostic equipment, lifting accessories and workshop equipment in safe and serviceable condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized and contamination-controlled work area and follow correct handling/storage procedures for oils, filters, batteries, hydraulic components and removed parts.
• Support technical investigations, repeat-failure analysis, field modifications, product improvement feedback and service bulletins.
• Coach junior technicians and assist with on-the-job technical training when required.
• Maintain professional conduct at customer sites and represent SANY service standards at all times.

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate / Associate-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant OEM training or manufacturer certification in heavy equipment service is strongly preferred.
• Additional training in hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, CAN-bus, welding/fabrication or condition monitoring is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence is preferred/required for field-service assignments, subject to the position's travel requirements.

Experience Requirements

• Technician: typically 3-5 years of hands‑on experience servicing heavy construction, mining, lifting, concrete, road or material‑handling equipment.
• Hands‑on field‑service experience in GCC/UAE construction, infrastructure, quarry, mining, logistics, ports or industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in hydraulic troubleshooting, diesel-engine repair and electrical/electronic diagnostics is essential for senior‑level roles.
• Experience preparing service reports, warranty documentation, inspection reports and parts/service requests is preferred.
