Job summary

Utkarsh Placement Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Commercial Manager for a new specialty chemicals manufacturing operation in Oman. The candidate will own the plant's commercial operations, from procurement to logistics. Ideal candidates should have 18-22 years of experience in the chemical sector at a GM level and familiarity with GCC customs.

Qualifications

About the Opportunity

A leading specialty chemicals manufacturer part of a large, well-established industrial group — is setting up its commercial leadership for a new manufacturing operation in Oman. We are hiring a Commercial Manager to own the plant's entire commercial engine end-to-end.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build, not just maintain — establishing systems, processes, and vendor ecosystems for a growing, future-facing operation.

What you'll own

• End-to-end plant commercial operations — procurement, sourcing, and cost control
• Logistics, dispatch, transportation, and warehousing
• EXIM, customs clearance, and statutory/regulatory compliance (GCC)
• Inventory and stores management (SAP-driven)
• Contract management, vendor negotiation, and long-term supplier relationships
• Coordination across operations, finance, and corporate functions in a matrix structure

What we're looking for

• BE in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 18–22 years in chemical / petrochemical / pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chain, with significant time at GM level
• Prior on-ground experience in GCC / Gulf countries is essential — familiarity with Oman/GCC customs and import-export procedures strongly preferred
• Strong command of procurement, logistics, EXIM, and contract management
• Hands-on SAP (MM) experience
• Proven ability to set up commercial systems and processes in a new-plant or expansion environment
