Role Context
The Sales Manager - Oilfield Market Development will strengthen the trading division 's presence across Oman 's oil and gas sector by building new business, protecting key accounts, and improving conversion of commercial opportunities. The role requires regular engagement with operators, EPC contractors, service companies, suppliers, and procurement stakeholders. Strong market knowledge and disciplined follow-up will be essential for turning customer demand into sustainable revenue and long-term commercial relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement sales initiatives that support revenue, margin, and market expansion targets.
- Identify new opportunities with oil and gas operators, EPC contractors, drilling organizations, service companies, and related industrial customers.
- Develop trusted relationships with procurement teams, engineers, project stakeholders, and commercial decision-makers.
- Manage important customer accounts and identify additional product and supply opportunities.
- Evaluate tender requirements and coordinate the preparation of complete technical and commercial submissions.
- Prepare quotations covering product specifications, quantities, pricing, lead times, and commercial conditions.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, delivery commitments, and supply agreements.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain competitive offers, technical documents, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Work with internal logistics and operational teams to support smooth order processing and timely fulfilment.
- Follow up on active quotations, tenders, and customer inquiries throughout the sales cycle.
- Track market activity, competitor positioning, upcoming projects, and changes in customer demand.
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, opportunity records, and management reports.
- Support junior sales colleagues with customer planning, quotation development, and account following up.
- Assist in resolving delivery, documentation, specification, and commercial issues affecting customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customer visits and sales activities comply with company policies and applicable HSE requirements.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA or similar postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Strong experience in oilfield equipment sales, oilfield trading, technical sales, or business development.
- Practical understanding of the Oman oil and gas market and its procurement environment.
- Established professional network among operators, EPC contractors, service companies, and relevant industry clients.
- Good technical knowledge of oilfield equipment and associated supply chain processes.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and develop new customer accounts.
- Experienced in tender management, quotation preparation, contract negotiations, and key account handling.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to assess pricing, customer expectations, and business profitability.
- Effective communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Arabic language ability is an advantage.
- Valid Oman driving license is mandatory.
- Able to work independently while maintaining close coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
