Job Summary / Objective

The D&WO Well Control Expert serves as a premier technical instructor and curriculum developer, driving well control competency programs across Drilling & Workover personnel. This role leverages extensive field background and advanced simulator expertise to prepare rig crews for critical well emergencies.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver Simulator Training: Program, manage, and instruct crews utilizing advanced DS 6000, DS 5000, and DS 20 well control simulators.
• Develop Educational Curriculum: Author, structure, and update technical training materials, lesson plans, and well control curriculum.
• Administer Competency Programs: Implement and track the formal Well Control Competency Program specific to D&WO personnel parameters.
• Evaluate Operational Competency: Leverage extensive field experience to assess crew readiness, technical knowledge, and emergency well control responses.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• Education & Industry Training: An Engineering Degree will be highly considered. Intensive industry training including appropriate specialized courses and seminars with diploma education will also be considered.
• Instructional Experience: At least three (3) years of direct experience working as a well control Instructor in an internationally recognized training institute.
• Field Experience: Extensive field experience as a Driller or Tool Pusher is highly recommended.
• Operations Background: High level of experience—at least five (5) years—across all phases of Drilling & Workover Operations.
• Technical Simulator Skill: Documented expertise in handling and operating DS 6000, DS 5000, and DS 20 simulators. Knowledgeable in the Well Control Competency Program for D&WO personnel and experienced in preparing curriculum/training materials.
• Language & Communication: Excellent written and oral command of the English language combined with strong overall communication skills.
