Job summary

Eslbar, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Driller to support safe and efficient oil and gas drilling operations on-site in Oman. You will assist the Driller, supervise rig-floor crew, monitor wellbore conditions, and manage drilling equipment within the approved program.

Expect to uphold safety standards, participate in drills, and ensure tools and facilities are maintained. Strong English communication is essential for operation and instruction receipt.

Qualifications

• Two years of drilling or workover rig experience.
• Minimum two years of experience as an Assistant Driller.
• Must hold a current supervisory IWCF or WellCap Well Control certificate.
• High familiarity with drilling tools, equipment, practices and procedures.
• Strong ability to understand and follow oral and written orders in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driller with operating and maintaining core drilling equipment such as drawworks, mud pumps and rotating equipment.
• Guide, supervise and lead the rig floor crew to enforce safe work habits and peak efficiency.
• Enforce rigorous safety regulations and participate in emergency/well control drills.
• Monitor drilling parameters and assist in executing well control procedures in compliance with BOP standards.
• Coordinate handling, storage, preparation, and movement of drilling tools and equipment at the rig site.

Job Summary / Objective

The Assistant Driller plays a critical, high-responsibility role in supporting the safe and efficient execution of oil and gas drilling operations. This position assists the Driller in supervising the rig floor crew, monitoring wellbore conditions, and managing drilling equipment to ensure all activities strictly align with the designated Drilling or Workover program. Upholding top-tier safety and operational excellence standards is mandatory.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Operational Support: Assist the Driller with operating and maintaining core drilling equipment, including drawworks, mud pumps, and rotating equipment.
• Crew Supervision & Mentorship: Guide, supervise, and lead the rig floor crew (including derrickhands and floorhands) to enforce safe work habits and peak operational efficiency.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety regulations, actively participate in emergency/well control drills, and ensure all tools, equipment, and structural areas (including the derrick/mast) are inspected and maintained in good running condition.
• Well Control Preparedness: Monitor drilling parameters and standby ready to assist in executing well control procedures in full compliance with blowout prevention (BOP) standards.
• Logistics & Material Handling: Coordinate the handling, storage, preparation, and moving of drilling tools and equipment at the rig site.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

Experience & Certifications

• Rig Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of drilling or workover rig experience.
• Specialised Experience: Must include a minimum of two (2) years of experience working specifically in the capacity of an Assistant Driller.
• Required Certification: Must hold a valid, current supervisory IWCF or WellCap Well Control certificate.
• Technical Knowledge: Highly familiar with drilling tools, equipment, practices, and procedures.
• Communication: Strong proficiency in English with a proven ability to fully comprehend and follow oral and written orders.

Physical Requirements

• Working at Height: Physically capable and fully comfortable working at extreme heights (such as the derrick/mast) safely and without abnormal fears.

Working Conditions

• Location: Based on-site at assigned drilling rigs (Land or Offshore environments).
• Schedule: Operates on standard, rotational rig-site shifts.
