Job summary

Wētā Workshop in Wellington is seeking Hosts for the busy summer season. You will be the face of the brand, delivering a unique guest experience and helping visitors connect with the creativity behind our props and experiences.

If you are energetic, comfortable talking to a diverse range of guests, and have customer service experience, we want to hear from you. Training is fully paid and interviews run Aug–Nov.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or guest-facing roles.
• Confident communicator with the ability to relate to a diverse range of guests.
• Energetic, charismatic and creative problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a memorable guest experience at the venue.
• Engage with visitors and provide information about offerings.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth guest flow and service.
• Availability across weekdays and weekends during the summer season.

We're Wētā Workshop. Home to an entire community of creative artisans who have brought life to films, tv series, immersive experiencesm collectables ... and more.

We share our creativity to the world through offering tour expereicnes, creative workshops and events that provide visitors with an up-close insight into the craftsmanship that happens within our workshop every day.

At our Wētā Cave retail store guests can purchase props, merchandise and collectibles. The coolest thing about the items we sell? They are designed and made by the same artists who make the epic stuff you see in films

We're now looking for more Hosts to join us for the busy summer season - with plenty of casual positions available.

Here’s the deal

As the awesomely approachable face of Wētā Workshop, you'll be rubbing shoulders with the most passionate and dedicated fan base on the planet, as well as families, film fans and guests from all over the world.

You’ll be delivering a unique guest experience like no other, inspiring and connecting our guests to our creativity.

We're looking for people who are energetic and charismatic, and have a love for creativity in all it's forms. You will be a confident communicator and know how to relate to a wide range of people.

Ideally, you'll have previous customer service experience, and a passion for our industry, too.

More information

Our Wellington operation is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week so we’re looking for people with good availability across the week and weekend.

The starting rate of pay for this role is $26.86/hour.

We will be interviewing for this role from mid-August to November, with fully-paid training sessions taking place at various times from September to December ... so even if you can't start til later in the year, we still want to hear from you NOW.
