Job summary

Norwood is seeking a Storeperson for our National Parts Warehouse in Palmerston North to support a large dealership network. You will handle warehouse tasks, including picking, dispatching parts, and optimizing warehouse systems.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with summer hours extending to 6pm. A rotating on-call roster (1 in 4 weeks) provides after-hours support to Norwood customers.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a large, well-organised warehouse.
• MPI devanning experience would be an advantage.
• Current forklift and MPI AP license preferred.
• Proficient with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage parts warehouse operations by planning, prioritising, scheduling work and allocating resources for efficiency.
• Maintain and develop operational processes, policies, procedures and systems for Norwood.
• Lead the Parts Warehouse Team with a supportive, safe and motivating environment.
• Develop parts warehouse staff and maintain a positive warehouse culture.
• Support the Parts & Logistics Manager to deliver excellent warehouse services.

About the Role

We have an opportunity available for a Storeperson to join our National Parts Warehouse in Palmerston North on a permanent basis. This role services our large Dealership network by running a variety of warehouse related tasks ranging from picking and dispatching parts to assessing warehouse systems.

You will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week within our core business days and hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, which increases to 6pm over summer. You will also participate in a rotating On-Call Roster (1 in 4 weeks) to provide out of hours support to Norwood customers.

What you will do

While the primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and seamless receipting and processing of goods, you will be an important piece of the puzzle to ensure the Warehouse Team is working together.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing the parts warehouse operational performance by planning, prioritising and scheduling work and allocating resources to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
• Maintaining and look to develop all operational processes, policies, procedures and systems that support optimal outcomes for Norwood.
• Leading the Parts Warehouse Team by creating a supportive, safe and motivating environment
• Support development of parts warehouse staff and leads a positive parts warehouse culture
• Supports Parts & Logistics Manager to deliver excellent warehouse services

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working in a large and highly organised warehouse
• MPI devanning experience would be an advantage
• A current forklift and MPI AP license is preferred
• Intermediate computer skills to use our warehouse management system and RF guns
• Good geographical knowledge of New Zealand
• Experience working in a successful team and great communication skills are essential
