Job summary

NMIT - Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology in Blenheim invites applications for a fixed-term, part-time Tutorial Assistant in Foundation Studies. This 28.8 hours/week role runs four days (Mon-Thu) from 9am-3pm.

Start date is 19 November 2026, and you will work face-to-face with Foundation learners aged 15-24. You will assist with literacy and numeracy tasks, support the tutor in classroom and on field trips, and handle classroom admin as required by the tutor.

An opportunity has arisen on our Blenheim Campus for a Tutorial Assistant in our Foundation Studies Programme Area. This is a fixed term, part time position (4 days per week, 28.8 hours/week) immediate start - 19 November 2026. The successful applicant will support our Foundations learners aged 15-24 years. Classroom hours are Monday to Thursday between 9am - 3pm. This role is primarily face to face helping learners build confidence and achieve success

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Support learners with understanding literacy and numeracy tasks
• Support the tutor both in the classroom and on field trips
• Perform classroom admin tasks as required by the tutor
