Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) on Blenheim Campus invites applications for a Tutorial Assistant in our Foundation Studies Programme Area. This fixed term, part-time role (4 days per week, 28.8 hours) starts immediately and supports Foundations learners aged 15-24.

Monday to Thursday, 9am–3pm, face-to-face classroom assistance to build confidence and achievement. The successful candidate will support learners with literacy and numeracy tasks, assist the tutor in the classroom

• Experience working with young people.
• Passion for helping young people thrive.
• Culturally inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with understanding literacy and numeracy tasks.
• Support the tutor both in the classroom and on field trips.
• Perform classroom admin tasks as required by the tutor.
