Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is seeking a permanent Aviation Tutorial Assistant for the Nelson campus. The role involves supporting the aviation program with resource preparation, tutoring assistance, and student documentation, while maintaining equipment and inventory.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 2/3 (or equivalent) with aviation or mechanical experience.
• Level 4 National Certificate in associated field.
• Full clean driver's license (Forklift license advantageous).
• Ability to build effective relationships and support students.

Aviation Engineering Tutorial Assistant Nelson

The opportunity / Te Whiwhinga mahi

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become an integral part of NMIT Aviation programme based at the Nelson Campus.

We are looking for a permanent, full time (5 days a week 36 hours), Aviation Tutorial Assistant with a broad range of skills and knowledge in general aircraft maintenance engineering.

The key responsibilities for the role are:

• Preparing teaching resources for tutors
• Assist with tutors with training and assessments
• Assisting students to prepare training documentation and evidence of learning
• Maintaining training equipment and inventories

To be successful in this role you will need:

• NCEA level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) with experience in aviation or mechanical field OR Level 4 National Certificate in associated field
• Full clean drivers license (Forklift license an advantage)
• To be able to build and maintain effective relationships while being sensitive to students needs and,
• A teaching / instructor background and / or an attitude to learn and develop this skill is preferred
