Job summary

Bank of New Zealand is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (Transact) to shape engineering excellence across BNZ Technology and provide specialist leadership to the CLR Programme and Transaction and Investments domain. This is a 24-month fixed term role, based in New Zealand, focused on delivering high-quality engineering outcomes at scale.

You will define and embed standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business and technology

Responsibilities

Define and embed engineering standards that drive quality, efficiency and consistency across BNZ Technology.
Lead and develop the CLR Programme Transact capability as it scales across Business Term Lending, Home Lending, Coexistence, Migration and Upgrade, alongside Asset Finance.
Work across Consumer Product & Services, platform and delivery teams to align engineering practices with our business and technology objectives.
Use engineering metrics and data to identify opportunities for improvement and drive better outcomes.
Mentor and develop engineers, supporting continuous learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Drive improvements across the scalability, reliability and maintainability of our systems and solutions.
Identify engineering risks and help implement solutions that support system stability and compliance.
