Job summary

Plumbing World in Wellington seeks a Trade Sales Team Member to combine customer service, sales, and branch support. You’ll advise customers, process orders, and help keep stock and deliveries moving. This is a hands-on role with growth potential within a proud Kiwi-owned business.

The position requires a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn our brand and products; experience in retail or trade is preferred. Local travel not required.

About the role

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll spend most of your time serving customers at the trade sales counter, processing orders, providing product advice, and helping customers get what they need to keep their projects moving. From time to time, you’ll also assist with local deliveries, warehouse duties, and branch operations, making every day a little different.

This role would suit someone with experience in retail, trade sales, customer service, plumbing, building supplies, or the wider trade industry. If you’re looking to move off the tools but still want to stay connected to the trade sector, we’d love to hear from you!

What your day will look like:

• Providing outstanding service to our customers at the trade sales counter.
• Processing sales and assisting customers with product enquiries.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Picking and preparing orders.
• Supporting warehouse and branch operations as needed.
• Working closely with the wider team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.

This is a permanent full‑time position working between 40-42.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rostered Saturdays.

Specific hours will be discussed during the interview process.

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Sound experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (D365 would be highly advantageous)
• Physically fit and able to undertake some heavy lifting (up to 20kg)
• A full, clean Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Pride in your personal presentation and professionalism.
