Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods is seeking an experienced people leader to own the Petone Trade Centre, building a high-performing team, strengthening customer relationships and delivering strong commercial results.

You will lead day-to-day performance, manage resources and expenses, optimize inventory and debtor matters, and drive a safe, customer-focused environment where staff are coached to succeed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a retail or customer-facing operation.
• Strong coaching and performance management capability.
• Strong commercial mindset with sales and operations delivery.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Customer-first approach with hands-on leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing Trade Centre team and model company values.
• Coach and develop staff through regular 1:1s and development plans.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding and performance processes.
• Oversee safety culture, SOP compliance and risk management.
• Grow revenue, margin and basket-size with local customers.
