"Help New Zealand's food industry make better decisions"
For more than 25 years, Mätt Solutions has helped food manufacturers, dairy companies, grain processors and researchers get reliable answers from their instrumentation data.
We supply, service, calibrate and support a wide range of analytical and process control instruments used throughout New Zealand and Australia. More importantly, we're a trusted partner to our customers when they need technical advice, support or a solution to a problem.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an Instrumentation & Technical Service Technician to join our Christchurch team.
No two days are the same.
One day you may be calibrating moisture analysers and gas analysers in our Christchurch workshop. The next you could be visiting a customer site, installing equipment, troubleshooting an issue, or training operators on how to get the best results from their instruments.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working with technology, and building good relationships with customers.
Service, repair and calibrate scientific and industrial instruments.
Prepare and maintain loan equipment and laboratory instruments.
Install and commission new equipment for customers.
Diagnose faults and provide practical technical solutions.
Support customers by phone, email and on-site visits.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Identify opportunities to support customers with additional products or services.
Work closely with our sales, laboratory and technical teams.
Contribute to a safe, organised and professional workplace.
You don't need to know everything on day one. We can teach the products.
What matters most is your attitude.
You'll likely have:
A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
Strong mechanical, electrical or technical aptitude.
Good communication skills and confidence dealing with customers.
A willingness to learn new technologies and applications.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
A positive, down-to-earth attitude and strong work ethic.
A full New Zealand driver's licence.
Experience servicing instrumentation, electronics, laboratory equipment, industrial automation systems or similar technical equipment would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
We're a small team that punches well above its weight.
You'll work with some of New Zealand and Australia's leading food, dairy, grain and manufacturing companies, helping them solve real-world challenges around quality, process control and product performance.
We offer:
Full product and technical training.
Variety and autonomy.
Opportunities for travel throughout New Zealand.
Exposure to cutting-edge measurement technologies.
A supportive team environment where your contribution genuinely matters.
A long-term career in a specialised and growing industry.
If you're naturally curious, enjoy figuring out how things work, and want a role that combines technology, customer interaction and problem solving, we'd love to hear from you.
