Job summary

Pathways seeks an inspirational Team Coach to lead two mobile teams in Manukau, Auckland, delivering community-based support to tāngata whai ora. You will report to the Service and Relationship Manager and guide a team of Support Workers and Peer Support Workers to empower recovery and wellbeing.

You will oversee care, coach kaimahi, manage resources, and build partnerships while advancing culturally responsive practices and data-driven service improvement.

Qualifications

  • HPCA regulated health practitioner, registered with a current APC
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Cultural awareness and commitment to Māori and Pasifika whānau
  • Full clean driver’s license
  • Ability to develop collaborative partnerships across the sector
  • A relevant qualification in leadership, management or a clinical qualification
  • Relevant experience in leadership and managing others
  • Forensic and AoD experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the care of tāngata whai ora on the Counties Manukau mobile and Intensive mobile caseloads to ensure they receive exceptional support in the community
  • Support the efficient and effective use of resources for the teams while fostering innovation and improvement of service including financial management of the service
  • Lead and support kaimahi, including regular individual coaching sessions, recruitment, professional development and performance management
  • Support the team to exceed their personal best in everything they do
  • Develop and grow our services to meet emerging community needs
  • Understand and use data that demonstrates our mahi in line with contractual obligations
  • Grow strong and collaborative inter sector networks and partnerships

The Role

We're looking for an inspirational and motivated leader to take up the exciting opportunity as full-time Team Coach (TC) located in Manukau, Auckland leading two mobile teams – Counties Manukau Mobile and Intensive mobile.

You'll be reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager and leading a team of Support Workers/ Peer Support Workers. Together, you will support tāngata whai ora on their recovery and wellness journey by helping them develop effective coping strategies, build life skills, engage with their communities, and achieve their self-identified goals.

As the TC you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our service. Your responsibilities will include:

This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be working Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Based in Manukau. You will also contribute to an on-call roster.

About You

We are looking for a registered Clinician with some clinical and leadership experience. You will have some understanding of te ao Māori and the wellbeing of tāngata whai ora and their whānau. You will bring a strong sense of purpose to your mahi, valuing whanaungatanga and leading with manaakitanga. In this role, you will nurture a safe, inclusive environment, role model positive wellbeing, and empower kaimahi to grow and thrive as they support others on their journey.

Skills and Experience

  • HPCA regulated health practitioner, registered with a current APC (Registered Nurse, Social worker, OT, DAPANZ)
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Cultural awareness and a commitment to supporting Māori and Pasifika whānau.
  • Full clean driver's license
  • Ability to develop collaborative partnerships across the sector.
  • A relevant qualification in leadership, management or a clinical qualification.
  • Relevant experience in leadership and managing others.
  • Forensic and AoD experience.
