Job summary

Pathways is a leading mental health and addiction service in Aotearoa. We seek a health professional with leadership experience to support a team delivering primary healthcare to tangata whaiora via GP practices in greater Christchurch.

The role is permanent full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, based in Christchurch. Ideal candidates will have registration, trauma-informed care knowledge, and capability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across health and NGO sectors.

Qualifications

  • Health professional with leadership experience in primary health care.
  • Experience as frontline manager in a primary health context.
  • Ability to build relationships with GP practices and NGO stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline management and support to a team of health coaches and support workers across medical practices.
  • Lead and motivate the team, fostering inclusion within Pathways.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with GP practices and partner NGOs.
  • Contribute to after-hours rostered service on a rotating basis.

The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga Mahi
Te Tumu Waiora is part of access and choice across greater Christchurch providing mental health support through medical practices in primary care settings with health coaches and support workers.

In your capacity as the Team Coach and part of the Pathways regional leadership team, you'll provide frontline management and support to a team of health coaches and support workers across a number of medical practices in greater Christchurch. You'll motivate your team and encourage a strong sense of inclusion within Pathways, especially as your team collaborates without daily interaction. You'll also be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with GP practices and frontline managers from other partnering NGOs.

Ideally you will have a health professional background, and experience working as a frontline manager in a primary health context.

You will also:

  • Be part of a leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach professional development sessions
  • Contribute to a National rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm, in Christchurch.

You | Mōu
The ideal candidate will be a health professional with a current registration who has experience working in the mental health industry, ideally with management and leadership knowledge. This could be a Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or AOD with understanding of primary health sector an advantage, and the ability to build strong relationships with a number of stakeholders across primary health and NGO sector.

You will have:

  • Experience in working with and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Tertiary Health qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing and registration with professional body.
  • A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Ideally, you'll have knowledge of the Canterbury Health and Social Services sectors
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
