Job summary

Pathways is seeking a health professional with leadership experience to support a team delivering primary healthcare to tangata whaiora via GP practices in Christchurch. You will mentor health coaches and work with frontline managers across partner NGOs.

The role is a permanent full-time position within the Pathways leadership team, coordinating with GP practices and healthcare staff, with occasional after-hours involvement.

Qualifications

  • Health professional background required.
  • Experience as frontline manager in primary health context preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and holistic wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline management and support to a team of health coaches and support workers across GP practices in greater Christchurch.
  • Attend regular leadership and professional development sessions as part of the Pathways regional team.
  • Contribute to a National rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

The opportunity |Te Whiwhinga mahi
Te Tumu Waiora is part of access and choice across greater Christchurchproviding mental health support through medical practices in primary caresettings with health coaches and support workers.

In your capacity as the Team Coach and part of the Pathways regional leadershipteam, you’ll provide frontline management and support to a team of healthcoaches and support workers across a number of medical practices in greaterChristchurch. You’ll motivate your teamand encourage a strong sense of inclusion within Pathways, especially as yourteam collaborates without daily interaction.
You’ll also be able to develop and maintain strongrelationships with GP practices and frontline managers from other partneringNGOs.

Ideally you will have a health professional background, and experience workingas a frontline manager in a primary health context.

You’ll also:

Bepart of a leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coachprofessional development sessions

Contributeto a National rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

This is a permanent full-time role, workingMonday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm, in Christchurch.

You | Mōu
The ideal candidatewill be a health professional with a currentregistration who has experience working in the mental health industry, ideallywith management and leadership knowledge. This could be a Nurse, Social Worker,Occupational Therapist or AOD with understanding of primary health sector anadvantage, and the ability to build strong relationships with a number ofstakeholders across primary health and NGO sector.

You will have;

Experiencein working with and an understanding of trauma-informed care.

TertiaryHealth qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing andregistration with professional body.

Acurrent full New Zealand driver’slicence.

Acurrent New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.

Ideally,you’ll have knowledge of the Canterbury Health and Social Services sectors

Knowledgeof, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
