Job summary

The Department of Conservation seeks an experienced administrator to support Nga Whenua Rahui, Pou Nga Whenua Rahui and related teams. You will manage diaries and emails, coordinate travel, prepare documents and minutes, and support meetings and events across Gisborne or Napier with flexible working options.

Strong planning, communication and customer service skills are essential, along with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. A NZ driver's licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Proven aptitude in an administrative role.

  • Strong planning and organisational abilities.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of project planning and organising is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain team systems and processes.
  • Provide diary, email management, planning and event support.
  • Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements for the team.
  • Prepare presentations, task assignments, reports and briefings.
  • Support taskforces, including taking minutes of meetings.
  • Coordinate fleet management at office sites.
  • Support basic budget management and stakeholder relations.
