Job summary

Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking a proactive administrator in Gisborne/Napier to support Ngā Whenua Rāhui teams. You will manage diaries, emails, travel bookings, and support meetings and events, while coordinating fleet and budgets where required.

You will liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth processes and timely documentation. A NZ driver’s licence is desirable, and the role offers flexible working arrangements in a full-time permanent capacity.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative role or similar.
  • Strong diary and email management capability.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain team systems and processes.
  • Provide administrative support including diary and email management, planning and event management.
  • Support team members with travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Prepare documentation including presentations, task assignments, reports and briefings.
  • Support taskforces, including taking minutes of meetings.
  • Coordinate fleet management at office sites.
  • Basic knowledge of budget management.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders externally and within DOC.
