Job summary

Stats NZ, the National Statistics Office of New Zealand, is seeking a Systems Engineer to help deliver reliable, scalable services within Technology Services Analytics. This role supports BAU and project work while protecting system and data integrity.

You’ll collaborate with analyst developers and systems engineers, install and monitor systems, and contribute to capacity planning and upgrades, all within secure, governance-driven processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server and IIS.
• Knowledge of Azure fundamentals and ARM templates.
• Experience with Terraform and scripting.
• Ability to automate operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and monitor systems.
• Provide operational support, define metrics, optimise services, and support capacity planning.
• Participate in system upgrades and migrations.
• Manage changes, incidents, service requests, and work items effectively.
• Audit systems to identify risks and opportunities.
• Automate routine tasks.
• Contribute to documentation and operational procedures.
