Job summary
New Zealand Intelligence Community invites expressions of interest for System Engineers to power secure IT infrastructure across government agencies. From Level 1 to Level 3, you will contribute to hardware, compute/storage, software integration and network services while ensuring Windows and Linux environments run securely and efficiently.
Work with stakeholders to translate needs into reliable solutions, mentor junior staff, and participate in on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in computing, IT, electrical or telecommunications (senior level).
- Experience with Windows, Linux, backup, SAN/storage, monitoring, and network services.
- Strong AD, certificate management, desktop-virtualisation, servers, and automation.
- Good communication, planning, and customer focus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver and maintain a wide range of IT solutions and services.
- Own day-to-day operational support of Windows and Linux environments, handling incidents, troubleshooting and changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable, secure technical solutions for the intelligence community.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a high-performing engineering culture.
