Job summary

HealthCare NZ in Palmerston North is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist clients in living independently at home and in the community. You will follow care plans and provide practical and emotional support, including meal prep, outings, medication assistance, and daily personal care.

The role involves travel to different locations such as Woodville, with shifts outlined in a two-week cycle. A full NZ driver's license and reliable transport are required, and NZQA qualifications funded

Qualifications

• Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do.
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
• Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation

• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
